Let me introduce myself.  My name is Corrie, and I made Buffalo Bill’s Yellowstone Country my home about 12 years ago.  My friends and family back in the Midwest couldn’t believe that I actually wanted to pick up everything and head west, but since I moved I keep telling all of them how blessed I am every day to wake up here in Wyoming! Since they have all heard my stories a hundred times, I figured the logical step would be for me to start a blog and tell the rest of the world about what it’s like to live in Cody, Wyoming!

One of the things I’m fortunate enough to do is to visit with people from all over the world who come to this area throughout the summer.  One of the comments that I keep hearing, though, is how folks who visit don’t expect all that there is to do here! People who were just planning to stay for a day, or even just pass through on their way to Yellowstone, find that there are so many things to do and see here in Cody that they can’t help but stay more than one day.

Case in point – I was visiting with four lovely gals from Indiana this summer who were just going to be in Cody for one night.  They were planning to take a tour on the Cody Trolley (give ‘em an hour, they’ll give you a hundred years!), and then spend some time in the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, maybe take in the rodeo.  But I ran into them the next night as they were headed to Dan Miller’s Cowboy Music Revue – they had decided to extend their stay because there was so much more that they wanted to do here before heading into Yellowstone National Park!  They hadn’t spent near enough time in the museum, and they were finding such great places to eat and shop, that they said just one day wasn’t enough.

I hear stories like that every day as I’m out and about.  In the summers, we have everything from rafting to horseback riding to music to rodeo to western gunfights to wild mustangs… the list goes on and on… you certainly can’t do it all in just a day!  So when you decide to take a trip to Yellowstone Country, make sure you build a few days into your plans just to spend here in Cody – it’ll be a trip to remember for the rest of your life!

I’ll be signing off now – but I’ll be back next week to tell you about something REALLY cool that’s coming to Cody this winter – you won’t want to miss it!

Lovin’ life in Buffalo Bill’s country,

Corrie N. Cody
